Well, it’s not smack when you compare it to the ugly utterings of, say,  Floyd Mayweather, but make no mistake, for Manny Pacquiao, the upcoming Pacquiao-Marquez 3 on November 12  is personal and he clearly has an edge building up inside him for this fight that has been lacking for quite awhile — perhaps not since the third fight with Erik Morales, if then.

By all accounts, Pacquiao is all business and training harder than ever in preparation for Marquez.  Now, in an interview with Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times, Pacquiao says:   “This fight is real important to me. Because it’s our third fight — our last fight — I have to end all the issues, all the doubts in people’s minds about beating him. I know I need to be in 100% condition to do that. You always hear me say I want to make people happy, make people satisfied with my fights. I want to be happy too.”

Then, in response to a question about whether Marquez and his fan base have a case when he says he beat Pacquiao twice, Pacquiao says: “I do not blame Marquez or his fans. Yes, the fights were close. This fight will not be close.”

Hmmmm…..I’m intrigued by this Manny.  It’s not exactly “no more Mr. Nice Guy” — but after the uber sportsmanship of the last batch of fights, it will really be interesting to see Manny enter the ring intent on proving a point by utterly demolishing his opponent.

I would not want to be Marquez.
