A few years back during a Christmas visit home, I rooted around in the attic and found boxes of pictures going back multiple generations in our family. I took the pictures with me back to California, and they stayed in a box for several more years until tonight, when got out the box, and a scanner, and had a picture scanning party — the best part of which was discovering that I could enlarge the tiny 3×2 inch pictures in the “Brag Book” that was in my grandmother’s purse when she died 45 years ago. She was the sweetest, gentlest person I’ve ever known, and I miss her to this day. I had seen the little Brag Book before — but the pictures were so small, and so damaged, that I couldn’t tell much. But with a good scan and some photo retoration software –something pretty magical (for me anyway) happened. Here they were, all the people in her life – the pictures she carried close to her until the end. After I finished scanning them of course I had to figure out a way to share them — so I uploaded them to Facebook, but since not all our family members are on FB, I also made a little m movie out of the pictures from the book. Here it is — I can’t wait to show it to my mom (and sister and cousins and sons and daughters and nieces and nephews)…..Be sure to click the FULL SCREEN ikon to see it full size……
