Unforgettable: 9/11 Attacks

The 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington began between 5:30am and 6:00am West Coast time. I arrived at Bally’s in Studio City at 5:40 and it had just begun. This report was on the air:

The initial discussion was about a “small plane” but you could see from the video that it was a huge hole, not a small plane. I was on the treadmill when the second plane hit, and saw it live:

I finished my workout and went home, turned on CNN. I had a number of meetings scheduled for the day and I think I was a little slow to fully grasp what was happening, because I was sitting at home, thinking about how I didn’t really feel like going out to meetings but was going to do it anyway, when Stacy, my assistant, called to inform me that she had already cancelled all my meetings. She was completely right. Here is footage which I saw live of Aaron Brown on CNN covering the events as the first tower went down:
